With the presence of 5 of the top 10 riders in the World, sport goes up another notch in the bay of Saint-Tropez. The second week of the Hubside Fall Tour promises to be very exciting. With, among other stars of the discipline, Daniel Deusser, Peder Fredricson, Steve Guerdat and Kevin Staut, the battle promises to be worthy of a major event. From Thursday onwards, the elite of international jumping have made a rendezvous to meet in the arena of the Hubside Jumping Grimaud – Golfe de St Tropez, for a CSI 5* that has rapidly become an important date on the calendar.

Olympic champions, World champions, European champions, winners of the most prestigious competitions in the World, for equestrian sports enthusiasts the Hubside Jumping Grimaud – Golfe de St Tropez will be “the place to be“, from the 23rd to the 26th of September.  Some of the biggest names in the sport are coming to compete over the 4 days in the Grimaud arena, which has become one of the World’s leading show jumping venues in recent months. After his victory last weekend in the mythical CHIO of Aachen with his phenomenal Killer Queen VDM, the rider who is ranked number one in the World, Daniel Deusser, is stopping off on the Riviera and will be looking to add another Grand Prix to his list of victories. Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat (#10), winner of the Grand Prix at Calgary’s CSIO 5* and recent team gold medallist at the European Championships, will also be present and ready to compete, as will the Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (#5), the Irish rider Denis Lynch (#21) and the fantastic American rider Laura Kraut (#27), who has a long track record and is a multi-medallist at the most important international events. The only rider not to have had a fence down over the 6 courses of the Tokyo Olympic Games, and winner of team gold and individual silver with his incredible H&M All In, Sweden’s Peder Fredricson (#2) will also have his sights set on Sunday’s Hubside.Store 1.60m CSI 5* Grand Prix which carries 200,000 euros in prize money.
All these international stars will however be facing stiff French competition from the one who is currently ranked 25th in the World, the brilliant Nicolas Delmotte, best French rider in Tokyo with Urvoso du Roch, and who will be accompanied here by Ilex VP, who’s regularly seen at the top in the biggest classes. Kevin Staut ( #9), who has been very much in the spotlight recently with Iliade KDW Z, is also eagerly awaited, as are Simon Delestre (#17), Julien Epaillard (#15) and Roger-Yves Bost.
The President and Founder of Hubside Jumping Grimaud – Golfe de St Tropez, Sadri Fegaier will also be competing in the CSI 5 and CSI 2*. Edward Levy and Alexa Ferrer, who each had two victories and several placings during the first week of the Hubside Fall Tour, will not be playing the role of extras either.
The CSI 2* also sees a strong line-up with France’s Fanny Skalli, winner of the 1.45m Hubside. Store Grand Prix last Sunday riding Jonka-A, but also Margaux Rocuet and her impressive Djibouti de Kerizac, the Mexican Enrique Gonzalez and the Belgian Eva Jennen. Ireland’s Mark McAuley and Spain’s Sergio Alvarez Moya are both entered in the CSI5* but taking advantage of the 2* label being held at the same time to bring on their less experienced rides.
This week, no less than 24 classes are on the programme, carrying a total of 501,000 euros in prize money. The French course designer Cédric Longis will be in charge of the arena during these four days of competition.
