We’re nearly ready for the penultimate stage of this season’s FEI show-jumping World Cup in Gothenburg, which provides the riders who haven’t yet done so the last chance to qualify for the final in Las Vegas, USA.
Italy’s Luca Maria Moneta will be one of those battling for a place in the grand finale and goes into the upcoming World Cup leg in 18th place in the overall standings. This is how things stand currently. A reminder that only the top-18 go through to the final:

3 – Lucy Davis USA 62 points
4 – Steve Guerdat SUI 57 points
5 – Harrie Smolders NED 56 points
6 – Edwina Tops-Alexander AUS 54 points
7 – Marcus Ehning GER 53 points
8 – Daniel Deusser GER 50 points
9 – Maikel van der Vleuten NED 45 points
10 – Marco Kutscher GER 44 points
11 – Hans Dieter Dreher GER 44 points

The following however can still make their way into the top-18: Jur Vrieling and Jos Verlooy (19th and 20th with 33 points), Reed Kessler (21st place with 32 points), Roger Yves Bost (22nd with 30 points along with Patrice Delaveau. The French rider will arrive with his mount Orient Express HDC.) Christian Ahlmann also has a chance (25th with 28 points just like Michael Whitaker). A win would also allow Ludger Beerbaum the chance to make his way into the top 18. The German rider is currently in 35th place with 21 points and will arrive with his two top mounts Chaman and Colestus.
Gerco Schroder is another one who still stands a chance in 31st and on 25 points and the same applies to Rolf-Goran Bengtsson (29th and with 25 points). In short, there is plenty to play for in Gothenburg. Click here for a full list of the standings: https://data.fei.org/Ranking/Search.aspx?rankingCode=S_WC&nfGroup=4001
