American Pharoah in line for prestigious award.

For the first time ever, a horse has been nominated for “athlete of the year“.
The renowned Sports Illustrated believe American Pharoah, the 3 year-old US thoroughbred, is the ideal candidate for the 2015 title.
After winning the American Triple Crown, the American thoroughbred is the first horse in the world to go on and win the Grand Slam (Triplice Corona and Breeders’ Cup Classic).
The horse was sensational in the last trial at Keeneland for the 2015 Breeders’ Cup Classic where it defeated horses who were all a lot older.
Sports Illustrated’s decision will certainly cause a lot of talking points and as things stand, and with 45% of the votes, American Pharoah is ahead of the lightning fast sprinter Usain Bolt, tennis star Novak Djokovic, football legend Lionel Messi and US golf hero Jordan Spiet.
