Avantea at the 2026 Salone del Cavallo Americano alongside In Foal Partners
Genetics, innovation and breeding consultancy
From May 22 to 24, 2026, the 39th edition of the Salone del Cavallo Americano in Cremona will once again confirm its status as one of the leading events on the European western horse scene, attracting breeders, industry professionals and enthusiasts from across Europe. The show will provide an important opportunity for networking, professional exchange and industry updates for all those involved in the sector.
Avantea, one of Italy’s leading centres for assisted equine reproduction, will also attend the event as a guest at the In Foal Partners booth, located beneath the main grandstand of the Reining Arena.
A collaboration that has steadily evolved over the years and is now growing even stronger thanks to a shared goal: providing breeders with innovative, practical and accessible tools to enhance the genetics of sport horses.
A partnership developed over time
Francesco Groppelli, founder of In Foal Partners together with Maurizio Di Simone, explains how the relationship with Avantea first began:
“At the beginning, some of our clients were already working with Avantea, and later I personally became interested in this field for my own mares. By studying the subject in greater depth and discussing it with Dr Cesare Galli, Dr Giovanna Lazzari and my veterinarian Tania Turci, I realised the enormous potential of assisted reproduction, which can become a strategic breeding tool rather than simply a solution for genetic preservation.”
From there, the collaboration gradually developed into a close partnership based on consultancy, genetic research and breeding programme planning.
The vision behind In Foal Partners
Founded in 2007, In Foal Partners has established itself within the European market as a company specialised in the import and distribution of American bloodlines for the western horse industry, with particular attention dedicated to small-scale breeders.
Today, the company operates throughout Europe thanks to a network of collaborators and agents based in Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and Sweden, offering genuine tailor-made breeding consultancy services.
“Our typical client is often the small breeder,” continues Francesco Groppelli. “Someone producing one or two foals per year but aiming to build a well-structured breeding programme.”
Assisted reproduction and new genetic opportunities
Over the years, Groppelli has personally chosen to use Avantea’s technologies to expand and improve his own breeding programme.
“I started with a fifteen-year-old mare recovering from a serious injury,” he explains. “Later, I realised these techniques deliver their greatest potential when applied to young horses with exceptional genetic value. Today, I mainly use them to obtain multiple foals from the same mare within a single year and to recover bloodlines that would otherwise have disappeared, including stallions that died twenty years ago.”
Among the most appreciated technologies are embryo sexing and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis, one of the services Avantea will present during the event.
A booth designed for direct dialogue
During the Salone del Cavallo Americano, the In Foal Partners booth will host the Avantea team, offering visitors the opportunity to engage directly with professionals working daily in the field of advanced equine reproduction.
“In my opinion, nothing is more valuable than speaking directly with the people who actually provide the service,” says Groppelli. “This allows breeders and owners to receive accurate information immediately, clarify doubts and truly understand the potential of these technologies.”
The booth will therefore become a meeting point for breeders, owners, veterinarians and equestrian professionals, as well as an opportunity to discuss the latest developments within the European western breeding industry.
