While the equestrian trials at the Rio Games reach their finale, it was Holland that took centre stage yesterday for the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Valkenswaard: at the spectacular Tops International Arena an equally spectacular event was held with the Swedish Rolf-Goran Bengtsson the star, winner of the individual event riding Casall Ask after an exciting tussle with the exhilarating Alberto Zorzi.
The rider from Padova who represents the Ian Tops team was riding Fair Light Van’t Heike, 11 year-old BWP female out of Vigo d’Arsouilles and formerly riden by Edwina Tops Alexander. Now entrusted to the young Italian it is rapidly blossoming at the highest level on the international stage.
Zorzi finished in third place with an error-free ride in 42.53 behind the American Laura Kraut on Cavalia and the winner Bengtsson with Casall Ask.
