Cassio Rivetti, the Brazilian born rider but competing for Ukraine since 2009, has parted ways with his sponsor Olexandr Onyshchenko. The writing was probably on the wall after the retirement of the stallion Vivan vd Heffinck and Forlap DC’s departure to the stables of Daniel Deusser but after all the various rumours, the official announcement has now arrived.
However, there seems to be no bad feelings over the split and the rider with his usual kindness and grace thanked his former sponsor for the support given to him in these years. Together and backed by his sponsor, the rider has competed in European, World and Olympic events achieving a great deal, but as Rivetti was so keen to stress, the moment has come to move on.
Speaking from the CSI3* St-Lo where he is currently competing, the rider went on to say that he does not have any precise plans with regards to his immediate future nor has he made any contact with the Brazilian Equestrian Federation. For the time being, he will continue to work with his 2 young and developing horses at the Wiesbecq facilities. The only certainty it seems is the rider’s appearance next week in Cork.
The rider currently placed 41st in the FEI ranking list will also be hoping to add another couple of performers to his stables.
