Christian Ahlmann triumphs in CSI4*-W in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – January 16, 2025 – A spectacular day of sport highlighted the second week of the prestigious Al Shira’aa Horse Show, with German rider Christian Ahlmann stealing the show. In the CSI4*-W competition, presented by Nirvana Travel & Tourism, Ahlmann shone aboard Otterongo Alpha Z, clinching first place with a swift and flawless round in 57.62 seconds.

This marks Ahlmann’s second victory in the tour, following his win in the CSI3* last Friday on the same horse. His performance was impeccable, once again demonstrating his ability to excel at top-level competitions. Otterongo Alpha Z displayed exceptional form, tackling the challenging 1.50m course with precision and agility.

Following closely, Irish rider Michael Pender secured second place with HHS Fortune, completing the course in 58.35 seconds. Pender showcased great skill, maximizing his horse’s potential. In third place, Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi finished with Chaco Bay in 58.89 seconds, an excellent result for the UAE rider who maintained a steady rhythm and impeccable precision.

The day’s program began with the CSIYH1* competitions for 6 and 7-year-old young horses, where local and international talents put on a great show. Charlotte Walker, riding Victoria’s Painted Secret CW, dominated the 6-year-old category, displaying a well-matched pair and excellent race management. Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi triumphed in the 7-year-old category with Argentina de Kreisker Z, impressing with speed and precision.

In the first of the 4* ranking classes, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council CSI4*-W, Abdulrahman Ikram delivered a masterful performance with Graduate HBC, completing the course in 59.75 seconds, just 0.01 seconds ahead of Constant van Paesschen, who showed strong competitiveness with Mixcoac LS la Silla.

Meanwhile, Arena Two hosted the CSI2* competitions, including the Majesticq Royal Care 1.20m and the CSI2* presented by Bolesworth International 1.40m. Ali Mufrrej Ali Mohamed Alkarbi and Nadia Abdul Aziz Taryam claimed first place in their respective categories, highlighting the rising level of excellence among local riders.

The excitement continues throughout the week, culminating in the much-anticipated CSI4*-W World Cup Grand Prix presented by Longines, scheduled for Sunday evening. This competition represents one of the tour’s highlights, attracting the attention of enthusiasts and professionals worldwide.
