Coming up: FEI World Cup the pick of the weekend events.
We’ve reached the half-way point of the week, which means it’s time to look ahead to the main events taking place from the show-jumping world this weekend.
Let’s start with the big-one, or rather, the second stage of the FEI World Cup for the European Division which makes the short trip from Norway to Finland as part of the Helsinki International Porsche Horse Show. Adding spice to the event is the total prize money of over 450 thousand euros.
The location for this year’s event differs from previous editions and the CSI5*-W will be taking place at the Helsinki Jaahalli where riders will be competing not only in show-jumping trials, but also dressage in the CDI3*.
Focusing back to the World Cup, the prestigious tournament may have just got underway, but promises to be as exciting as ever with Steve Guerdat looking to defend his title against a host of world class riders starting with a motivated Penelope Leprevost eager to bounce back after missing out on victory at the last European Championships in Aachen.
As always, you can follow it all live on FEI TV while you can also access the LIVE STREAMING channels on the right hand side of the HSJ website home page by clicking on the Streamhorse TV link.

The USA is also staging a leg of the World Cup with some of the best horse and rider combinations from America and more going head to head at the CSI4*-W Washington International Horse Show. A live streaming service is available by clicking here: http://wihs.showmanagementsystem.com/webcast/play
Our World Cup focus doesn’t end there because Brazil is staging the CSI4*-w Porto Alegre where Brazilian riders will be putting themselves to the test in a major competition ahead of the Olympic Games in Rio next year. Moving back north, in North Carolina a CSI3* is being held in Tryon (tryon.coth.com), while coming back to our starting point Europe, we also find the CSI3* St Lo in France (www.csi-saintlo.com) and CSI3*-W Lezsno in Poland (www.jksprzybyszewo.com) on the agenda. The latter is also hosting a leg of the FEI World Cup.
Our look-ahead ends this week with a series of CSI2* events which includes two in Italy: Tanca Regia is playing host to the Sardinia Jumping Tour (www.sardegnajumpingtour.it) while San Giovanni in Marignano the CSI2* Horses Riviera Resort (www.horsesrivieraresort.com). Away from Italy, the final two star events are in Austria in Wiener Neustadt (www.lake.arena.at) and Canada in Calgary (www.sprucemeadows.com).
