Countdown begins to the highly anticipated CHIO Aachen 2015.
Mark the date in your calendars as we edge ever closer to one of the biggest events this spring. From the 29th of May, Aachen will be the setting for the World Equestrian Festival as well as the Rolex Grand Slam.
The best riders on the international circuit are all eager to take part and the following have already confirmed their presence: Ludger Beerbaum, Marcus Ehning, Daniel Deusser, Penelope Leprevost, Kevin Staut and Scott Brash.
The Rolex Grand Prix is the jewel in the crown of the Aachen event and is one of the three legs of the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping. A staggering 1 million euros in prize money is up for grabs for the rider that is able to make it a hat-trick and win all 3 of the GPs.
Last year in Aachen the winner was Christian Ahlmann with the stallion Codex One and it could be a good omen for this year, but also the European Championships which are also taking place in Aachen for the month of August.
To whet the appetite, Director General of the Aachen show Frank Kemperman has already said that 28 of the best riders in the world will be present and this will include the World Cup winning Dutch team.
