CSI 5*: Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard

This 2018 edition of the International Jumping of Dinard, confirmed once again its well deserved reputation of most beautiful competition in the country. Exceptional site, flawless organization, and top level sport delighted as usual some of the best riders of the planet as well as a faithful and enthusiastic public.
CSI 5*: Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard
The four days of the International Jumping of Dinard 2018 came to a conclusion in the best possible way with the Rolex Grand Prix, over a 1m60 course. 35 pairs were on the start list for the initial round, but only 7 were invited to compete in the final phase against the clock on a reduced course.
Cheered by well deserve applause, the American Mclain Ward, riding his fantastic grey mare Clinta writes his name on the record of this top level class with a clear round in a time of 46’’14. For his first time in Dinard, the rider was extatic. « I am very excited, it’s a beautiful event, I was a bit lucky since the other riders made some mistakes. I have been riding Clinta since March, it’s the second 5* competition she is in, and the 4th Grand Prix she wins, I am very grateful to her and her owner and my whole team.»
The 2nd place goes to Henrik Von Eckermann, associated to Mary Lou 194, after a clear round completed in 46’’89. The Swedish rider, who was in Dinard for the first time as well said « it is a fantastic show, I am really happy I could come here, I hope they give me an invitation for next year as well, because I really enjoyed it. I am also happy with my horse, I did a little mistake between one and two in the jump off, but I take responsability for it. »
The French rider Nicolas Delmotte, winner of the Rolex Grand Prix 2017, shines this year again, and takes 3rd place with his partner Ilex VP, after a beautiful double clear round in the top level competition, in a time of 47’’15. The French rider declared he was really happy about his horse, who likes this stadium. « I am pleased and proud to be in this jump-off with the best riders in the world. I would like to congratulate the course designers, both in the 3* and the 5*, the organization we hardly see anywhere else, and the public. Once in the arena, we can really feel their support. It’s for sure one of the most fantastic shows in the world, I already thought that way when it was only a 2* label. »

CSI 3*: Well Done Julien!
The CSI 3* ended up with the l’Eperon/Charles de Cazanove Grand Prix, over a 1m50 course. Out of 43 pairs on the start list, only 9 came back for the decisive jump-off against the clock. Victory goes to the French Julien Gonin, riding Well Done, in a time of 41’’76, ahead of the very experienced Swiss Beat Mändli in command of Dibatsja (42’’59) and the Belgian Gudrun Patteet associated to Sea Coast Kira (43’’36).

CSI 1*: The podium for France
Last class of this 2018 edition as well for the 17 riders of the CSI1*, supported by the Laiterie de Montaigu, over a 1m40 course. Only 7 of them are qualified for the jump-off. The French rider Ninon Decaqueray clinches victory with Tilda de Mars while the Egyptian rider Mohamed Nadim places 2nd with Colour Girl, ahead of the French Kiliann Nicolas and Vol’ovent de la Serre.
