CSI5* Basle: excellent win for Italy’s Gaudiano on day 3 of Swiss event.
Let’s round up now the results from Day 3 of the CSI5* Basle.
Ireland’s Billy Twomey with Articolumn Duke (Gypsy Duke) won the Prize of Garage Nepple AG over 1.45m against the clock. Following behind in second was Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet with Egano van het Slogenhof (Electro) while the number one in the Longines ranking list Scott Brash took the final podium finish.

There was then a fantastic result for Italy as Emanuele Gaudiano came in first place in the Jeep Prize over 1.50m. The Italian was competing with Admara 2 (Padinus) and recorded a time of 44.68 seconds, leaving Martin Fuchs on Picsou du Chene (Le Tot de Semilly) in second and Belgium’s Pieter Devos on Cous Cous van Orti (Nabab de Reve) in third. As for the main event of the day, the Prize LGT over 1.55m with jump-off, this was won by Germany’s Daniel Deusser with Espyrante (Obourg). The German rider went round the course in an unbeatable time of 35.24 whereas second ranked Romain Duguet set a time of 35.50 on Quorida de Treho (Kannan). Third place was taken by Brazil’s Marlon Mòdolo Zanotelli with Malou (Maloubet de Pleville).

Looking ahead to today’s schedule, the 5 star trials begin at 16.30 with the Grand Show Jumping Hunting Competition of Solbau over 1.45m which will be followed by the main event of the day the Prize of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois over 1.50m at 19.15.
