CSI5* Helsinki Horse Show: Friday’s results.
Let’s begin today by checking out the latest results from the Finnish capital which is playing host to the 5 star Helsinki Horse Show.
Yesterday, there were three CSI5* competitions: the International Welcome, the Helsinki Champions International and the speed and handiness trial.
In the first competition, the International Welcome over 1.40m, victory went to Norway’s Geir Gulliksen who triumphed with the gelding mount Grand Balou 4 (Balou du Rouet).
In second and third place meanwhile we find two Dutch riders in the form of Leopold van Asten with VDL Groep C Tara Z and Henk van de Pol with Spartacus TN.

This was followed by the Helsinki Champions International over 1.45m and against the clock where there was a fourth place finish for Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano with KWPN Admara 2 (Padinus). Riding to victory however was Holland’s Jur Vrieling with Arezzo VDL (Chin Chin), followed by home rider Anna-Julia Kontio with Fardon in second and Frenchman Kevin Staut with For Joy van’t Zorgvliet HDC in third.

The final 5 star competition, the speed and handiness over 1.40m, saw Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher ride to victory with 12 year-old gelding Callisto (Casall). Second place was claimed by Ireland’s Shane Breen with Acoustik Solo du Baloubet (Baloubet du Rouet) and third place by Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs with Uzo van het Hobos Z (Up to Date Miltoo).

Looking ahead to today, fans will be treated to the Helsinki GP (at 15.30) followed by the 1.40m competition with joker. The action today in Finland will come to a close with the Helsinki Classic over 1.50m against the clock and the Helsinki Masters also over 1.50m.
