Let’s round up some of the other results from yesterday at the CSI5* Helsinki.
Holland’s Jur Vrieling came out on top in the timed trial over 1.50m on BWP Esprit Ds (Darco) and was followed by Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet with Egano van het Slogenhof in second and Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs on Picsou du Chene in third.
Italian rider Luca Maria Moneta finished strongly in fourth place after a clear with selle française Quova de Vains (Robin II) while the other Italian rider Lorenzo De Luca on Ferox B (Quidam de Revel) came tenth. There was also a very exciting team event, which saw team Europe run out winners. The side was made up of Marco Kutscher with Coco II, Jur Vrieling on Esprit DS and Italy’s Luca Maria Moneta with Quarius. There were 5 penalties in the first round and a clear in the jump-off by Jur Vrieling in 27,16 which gave victory to his team.
In second place we find team World Wide made up of Pius Schwizer & Clever Lady, Michael Whitaker on Balibu and Lorenzo De Luca with Ferox. Just like team Europe, they collected 5 penalties in the first round but De Luca, chosen to compete in the jump-off, was over a second and a half slower than the other finalist Jur Vrieling. The rest of the teams finished as follows:
3rd East II
4th Nordic
Please see the attachment for a complete set of the results.
The second stage of the FEI World Cup for the European Division is scheduled today at 16.00 and it can be followed live on FEI TV and Eurosport.
