CSI5* Zurich: wins for Wathelet, Beerbaum and Schwizer ahead of the World Cup.

Let’s take a look now at the results from day 2 at the 5 star event in Zurich, Switzerland in which there were victories for the home riders, but also those from Belgium and Germany.
The first competition yesterday at the Hallenstadion was won by the Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet and he rode to victory in the Art on Ice Prize over 1.50m with Oh d’Eole (Kannan). Second place went to the winner of the World Cup leg in Leipzig Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher with Colore (Contender). Third place went to the young Irish rider Bertram Allen with Romanov (Heartbreaker). The 1.40m trial against the clock, the LGT Private Banking Challenge, was won by Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum with Zinedine (Guidam). In second place we find the Swiss rider Pius Schwizer with Anisette de Lassus (Sherman-Sitte) and in third Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet on Zippit (Berlin). The knock-out competition over 1.35m meanwhile saw the home-favourite Martin Fuchs come out on top with Mighty de Riverland and he defeated Pius Schwizer on Anisette de Lassus in the final phase.
Today’s events on the other hand begin with the Verit Immobilien AG Prize over 1.35m before the highly anticipated latest stage of the FEI World Cup gets underway at 14.00. The competition will be broadcast again later this evening on Eurosport at 21.30.
