CSIO Rotterdam: Germany top of the FEI Nations Cup Top League

German equestrian is considered the best in the world and yesterday’s CSIO competition in Rotterdam confirmed this as the team demonstrated a coldness and determination. These qualities helped them win the Dutch cup of nations and put them at the top of the rankings in the FEI Nations Cup Top League. With a team made up of Marco Kutscher (Cornet Obolensky), Thomas Voss (Carinjo 9), Carsten Otto Nagel (Corradina) and German champion Ludger Beerbaum (Gotha Frh), Germany went to a jump off with a total of ten penalties against a strong British team, who also had ten penalties in the two races. Germany had no errors though, whereas Great Britain had one. Behind Great Britain came France (12 penalties) followed by Holland and Belgium with 17 penalties, the U.S.A with 18 and then Ireland, with a disappointing 29 penalties and then Denmark with 33. The current FEI Nations Cup rankings see Germany top with 50 points, then Holland with 48.5 and in third Great Britain with 47, after the eight stages so far this season.
