CSIO San Gallo: Italy take seventh place in Cup

The United States repeated their feet of a week ago in Piazza di Siena by clinching first place in the third round of events at the Meydan FEI Nations Cup held in San Gallo, Switzerland. Italy concluded their round seventh with a penalty score of 18.
The Italian team was made up of: Giuseppe D’Onofrio on Landzeu 2 (pen.1-0), Giulia Martinengo Marquet on Loro Piana Cl ( 9 – 5), Giuseppe Rolli on Jericho de la Vie (4-13) and Piergiorgio Bucci on Zara Kanebo (4-4). The US team (McCrea-Bond-Kraut-Spooner) completed both circuits with 4 penalty points like Germany (Ehning-Carsten Nagel-Weishaupt-Sloothaak). In the Barrage, despite knocking over one fence like the German Ehning was awarded first place due to a faster finishing time. Third place went to both Switzerland and Belgium with eight penalty points, while Great Britain and Holland tied for fifth on 12 penalties. Seventh place for Italy and eighth for Ireland. Both France and Sweden were eliminated after the first round with 16 penalty points.
