Marcus Ehning won the Longines Global Champions Tour of Vienna Grand Prix on the 17-year-old Plot Blue. The German was in great form, riding the only treble clear round ahead of Simon Delestre on Qlassic Bois Margot with Portugal’s Luciana Diniz third on Winningmood. Fourth was Maikel van der Vleuten on VDL Groep Sapphire B (Mr. Blue the sister of the winner). The overall championship leader Ludger Beerbaum was 5th ahead of his closest challenger for top spot Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. The first round was tough but the contest really came to life in the second round as one after another the competitors failed to come to terms with the course apart from the eventual winner Ehning, Diniz, Delestre and van der Vleuten who looked well set. However, it was Plot Blue who was untouchable in the end and can go into the grand final in Doha, Qatar from 13 to 15 November full of confidence. Having said that the big favourites will be Beerbaum, Bengtsson and defending champion Scott Brash who despite his eight faults leapt up to third in the overall standings.Final standings: http://eventcontent.hippoonline.de/948/sta_erg/04_ergENG.htm?style=longi…
