Buoyed by their triumphs at the Olympics and achievements at the Nations Cup in the eventing discipline, France have launched a new initiative to ensure they keep going from strength to strength in the field.
It comes in the form of the national young horses competition for eventing which has been created alongside the studbooks of Selle Française, France Complet and Mondial du Lion.
The first edition of the event will make its debut this weekend in Lyon at the ‘Mondial du Lion’ – scheduled to run between October 19-22.
The competition will see some of the top 3 year-old horses strut their stuff and put through their paces in a number of trials such as the free jump.
Keep an eye on the sorrel gelding Opgun Louvo, paired with the German horsewoman Sandra Auffarth. Together they won gold at the Olympics.
