Excitement builds in the Italian capital.

The 19 Azzurri riders who will take to the field today at the Piazza di Siena equestrian event in Rome faced the press yesterday and expressed their optimism in obtaining a successful outcome. Leading the way for Italian hopes are Filippo Moyersoen, Emanuele Gaudiano, Lorenzo De Luca, Giulia Martinengo Marquet, Piergiorgio Bucci, Emilio Bicocchi, Bruno Chimirri, Matilde Giorgia Bianchi as well as teenager Guido Franchi.
Italy’s optimism will be put to the test however seeing the competition that will arrive in the Italian capital such as French star Simon Delestre, currently the world number one and who has developed a reputation as the speed king on the international circuit. Holland’s World Champion team cannot be ignored either and will be looking for a successful result going into this summer’s Olympic Games.
