Falsterbo Horse Show: Switzerland triumphs in the Agria Falsterbo Nations Cup after jump-off against Belgium
Switzerland claimed victory in the 2026 Agria Falsterbo Nations Cup, emerging on top after a thrilling FEI Nations Cup at the Falsterbo Horse Show in Sweden. The Swiss team prevailed over Belgium only after a decisive jump-off, with both nations finishing the two rounds on zero team penalties.
The competition had begun in remarkable fashion, with Switzerland, Sweden and Belgium all producing faultless performances in the opening round. Behind them, France, Ireland and the United States remained within striking distance on four penalties, while Germany and Mexico failed to qualify for the second round after finishing outside the top eight.
Switzerland maintained its composure throughout the second round. Steve Guerdat aboard Dynamix de Belheme and Jason Smith with Picobello Van’t Roosakker each delivered another clear round, while Gaëtan Joliat and Just Special VK were eliminated. Having been withdrawn in the opening round, Martin Fuchs returned in round two with Lorde, producing a faultless performance that ensured the Swiss team remained on a perfect score.
Belgium matched that achievement by finishing the competition without a single team penalty. Clear rounds from Pieter Devos aboard Primo DV, Thibeau Spits with Impress-K Van’t Kattenheye Z, and Nicola Philippaerts riding Katanga V/H Dingeshof in the second round left the two nations tied at the top, forcing a jump-off to determine the winner.
It was Martin Fuchs and Lorde who ultimately secured the title for Switzerland. The Swiss combination completed the jump-off with 3 time penalties in 55.76 seconds, while Pieter Devos and Primo DV incurred 13 penalties in 57.35 seconds, handing Switzerland its third Agria Falsterbo Nations Cup title.
The United States completed the podium on eight penalties, thanks to the performances of Kent Farrington with Descartes SR, Natalie Dean aboard Fornett d’Emeraude, Mimi Gochman with Iron Maiden, and Charlotte Jacobs riding Playboy JT Z.
