FEI World Cup heads to the Spanish capital.
Let’s turn our attentions now to the next stage of the FEI World Cup, which after the latest round in Stuttgart, will be taking place in the Spanish capital Madrid. The lively European city is renowned for its sporting excellence thanks also to its two football teams, the world famous Real Madrid and their local rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Madrid Horse Week is now in its 2nd edition and to mark the occasion it will also be playing host to the next round of the 2014/2015 World Cup season. The appearance of many top riders has already been confirmed such as Steve Guerdat and Ludger Beerbaum, which means that from the 27th to the 30th of November all the attention will be firmly on the Spanish capital where the best 50 riders in the world from the show-jumping discipline will be on display.
It won’t all be about show jumping however and there is plenty of space reserved for dressage with the CDI3*. The equestrian event will also be providing fans the chance to watch one of the emerging disciplines: horseball. The sport is becoming increasingly popular at these events and fans can watch a match between two of the in-form nations, Spain and Italy.
In terms of commercial opportunities, visitors to the equestrian showpiece will have the chance to indulge in some shopping at the Salòn del Caballo.
The whole event will be broadcast over 5 continents thanks to the high media interest. What is more, amongst the top riders fans will have the chance to see in action Patrice Delaveau, Kevin Staut, Bertram Allen, Denis Lynch, Harrie Smolders, Christian Ahlmann, Daniel Deusser, Marco Kutscher, Robert Whitaker, Gregory Wathelet, Paul Estermann, Edwina Tops-Alexander and Henrik von Eckermann.
Italy meanwhile will be represented by the following 3 riders: Francesco Franco (Banca Popolare di Bari Cassandra), Emanuele Gaudiano and Luca Maria Moneta.
