Filippo Moyersoen crowned Italy Master for third time
Filippo Moyersoen won the Il Memorial Dalla Chiesa event to become the Italy Master for the third time.
It was a day of sport and celebration at San Lazzaro di Savena (Bologna) which began with a youth event for five and six-year-olds in the Gloden Car and Barbour events.The final of the Small Tour over 1.25m was later in the morning and that event was won by Lisa Luise on Simsalabin (0/0 in 35,66) ahead of Chiara Bonaspetti on Cassia GP (0/0 in 36,08) and the junior Flavio Michelucci on Nozem, with a double clear of 37.45 seconds.The big moment of the day came at 14.30 with the “Il Resto del Carlino“ Grand Prix which had prize money totalling 20,000 euro. The top Italian riders were in the frame and it was Filippo Moyersoen on the grey Canada who won his third Master (0/4 in 41,72).Moyersoen along with Arnaldo Bologni is the only rider to have won three Italy Masters, the first two were in 1992 and 1993.Second place went to Giacomo Bassi on Casilla (0/4 in 46,02) and third was the captain of the Fiamme Oro Vincenzo Chimirri on Gayatri van’T Welthof (0/5 in 53,56).La Coppa Gese Memorial dalla Chiesa was handed to General Antonio Paparella, of the Carabinieri Legion of the Emilia Romagna region.President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano handed out the awards at the end of the ceremony which was closed by a fanfare from the Marescialli Brigadieri School from Florence.The GP results are attached.Memorial dalla Chiesa press release
