First laps of honor at the Fei Nations Cup Youth in Busto Arsizio
Switzerland, Italy, Italy gained team glory in the Young Rider, Junior and Children competition
Busto Arsizio (VA), 17 May 2024 – It’s been an amazing, action packed day at the Fei Nations Cup Youth event hosted by Etrea Sport Horses in Busto Arsizio where the best riders of each nation and age group were selected to represent their countries. Three Nations Cup classes on the agenda – Young Rider, Junior and Children – meant a large number of riders went out aiming to win the prestigious Nations Cup on tracks created by the Course Designer Andrea Colombo and his staff.
Junior
30 rider and horse combinations from 8 different countries have been battling for team glory over a strong 1,40 course. Finishing on a score of 0 faults after a nail biting finale it was Team Italy who took the win for Chef d’Equipe Marco Bergomi. Eleonora Sanna riding Incanto VDL (0/0), Marianna Martinengo Marquet on Ultime Du Paradis (0/0), Daphne Giunti with Londra dell’Oxer (12/4) and Filippo Bolognini riding Denver HE (0/0) never lost their concentration and were able to stay ahead of their competitors from the Czech Republic.
Chef d’Equipe Zuzana Janatova’s team consisting of Rozalie Pichrtová on Coudy (0/14), Albert Pisarik riding Goldenstar (0/0), Katerina Bubakova with Ella (0/0) and Viktor Skutecky riding G-Star SL (999/4) finished on 4 faults and had to settle for second place . France finished on 16 faults and rode into third place with Toscane Carloni Richard aboard Ambre d’Ermisserie (0/0), Marie Othenin riding Eriska Du Richemont (8/12), Anna Szarzewski on Nitouche V/H Hulstenhof (10/8) and Zoe Freeland Bedon with Envie D’Une Folie (0/0) lead by Chef d’Equipe Olivier Bost.
Children
The Children team competition of the Fei Nations Cup Youth held in Busto Arsizio kept the audience sitting on the edge of their seats. After 2 rounds, Italy and The Netherlands finished on an equal score of 4 faults and went on to battle it out in a thrilling jump-off. Italy snatched victory over the Dutch team making it two in a row for the home country after the juniors won their Nations Cup in the morning.
Italian Chef d’Equipe Marco Bergomi had lined up Andrea Pisani with Charlemagne JT Z (0/0), Maria Vittoria Gaffuri on Cafeine des Roches (4/4), Antonio Spano riding Passe Partout Van de Koeboshoe (9/4) and Giacomo Martinengo Marquet with Lemato Price (0/0). Meanwhile, Minnie Vos riding Don Diablo (0/0), Joep Schaap with Abbervail Diamant (0/N.P.), Anne Willemssen on Estoril (4/0) and Liv Linssen with Jones (8/0) were part of the Dutch team guided by Chef d’Equipe Edwin Hoogenraat.
The Swiss team accompanied by Chef d’Equipe Cornelia Notz, had to settle for third place as Lorena Stella Hauri riding E Borussia (0/4), Matilda Larsson on Cool And Easy B (0/4), Noah Philips-de-Vuyst with Venture (12/4) and Anic Michel on Destin D’Euskadi (4/4) finished on a total score of 16 faults.
Young Rider
The young riders were the last to jump for team glory in Busto Arsizio at the end of a very long and action packed day. The Swiss squad again led by Chef d’Equipe Cornelia Notz proved unbeatable over Andrea Colombo’s strong 1.45m track. Thibaut Keller on Farezzo and Bryan Smits riding Coria Von Hof scored the only double clears of the class and helped Aaliyah Laurino on Corcovados H (0/30) and Linus Hanselmann (13/4) secure the win for Switzerland.
Italy and Chef d’Equipe Marco Bergomi had to settle for second place with Aurora Guaragno on Contento 23 (0/0), Zoe Lia with Nebbia delle Schiave (10/4), Laura Micol Boni riding Mocca 43 (0/12) and Lorenzo Correddu on Dalakani Chardonnet (0/8) finishing on a score of 16 faults after their 2 rounds.
Third place went to Spain. Chef d’Equipe Martin Reyes’s team.
