Almost incredible but at the age of 31 years Florida Metallic has passed away. It starred way back in Pan American Games in Argentina in 1995, winning a bronze medal with Anne Gribbons before moving to dressage rider Robert Dover with whom he won the Olympic bronze team in 1996 in Atlanta.
Metallic also competed in 2000 Olympic Games but with another rider, Gunter Seidel.
The gray gelding from the Dutch KWPN studbook, Metallic retired from competition 14 years ago and has since spent his retirement at the Rosewood Farm, Florida.
