France introduces softer whip. What about Italy?

Just over a week ago on July 1 in France, jockeys were handed a whip which has a serial number that cannot be falisified. Commissioned by France Galop, it will be much softer and in theory should do less harm to the horses. Many animal welfare groups in Italy have calling for measures to safeguard horses here but there are no plans proposed for introduce the whips in Italy. The hope is that a definite line of action will be taken soon.
