Paris has been named as the host city for the double World Cup final of dressage and show-jumping. The announcement was made following the FEI general assembly which took place in San Juan earlier this week.
The splendid city beat the competition from other worthy candidates such as Gothenburg (already the host city for this year’s final for show-jumping) and Las Vegas (last year’s venue for the final of show-jumping).
What’s more, Paris has never in all of its history hosted both the final of dressage and show-jumping for the FEI World Cup. However, the French capital did stage the show-jumping final in 1987 and the dressage final in 1991.
GL Events have been named as the organisers of the big occasion which is set to take place from the 10-15 April 2018 and they are the same group behind the successful double final in Lyon in 2014.
The indoor arena hosting the Parisian event is best known for its pyramid form and for being one of the biggest concert arenas in France. Madonna, Cèline Dion, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue and U2 are just a selection of the world famous groups and artists to have graced the arena.
