A number of up and coming riders have taken part at the renowned Young Riders Academy. The programme offers detailed training to a selection of future stars under the guidance of an experienced rider from the world of show-jumping.
Here are those who took part at the most recent Young Riders Academy: Cassandra Brackmans (Belgium), Jack Dodd (Ireland), Pal Flam (Norway), Eoin McMahon (Ireland), Emma O’Dwyer (Great Britain), Laura Klaphake (Germany), Derin Demirsoy (Turkey), Laetitia Du Couedic (Switzerland), Michael Duffy (Ireland), GIAMPIERO GAROFALO (ITALY), Spencer Roe (Great Britain), Basile Rubio (France).
The group of young riders were also welcomed to the FEI headquarters by the President Ingmar De Vos before being accompanied to the Rolex HQ where they had the chance to learn about sponsorship and partnerships. The day came to a close with a prize ceremony in which the coaching team for next year Jean-Maurice Bonneau, Jos Lansink and Franke Sloothaak were present.
The 2016 Young Riders Academy graduates will continue to be monitored and tracked – just like those that came through the prestigious training course in 2014 and 2015. Looking ahead, the 2017 selection will begin in Arezzo for athletes aged 18-23.
