The CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix provided the perfect finale to Show Jumping at Royal Windsor, with the world’s best riders in action on Bob Ellis’ up-to-height 1.60m course, all looking to claim the prestigious title.
Ten combinations jumped clear through to the jump-off, setting up an exciting climax. With four left to go, it was Rolex testimonial Steve Guerdat from Switzerland with his consistent mare Bianca who skipped round and beat US Laura Kraut by half a second, finishing in a time of 43.11.
Third place went to Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano on the huge-jumping Caspar 232, while William Whitaker was best of the Brits in fourth with the only other double clear on Utamaro D’Ecaussines.
Guerdat received his prize from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
