Genitori in sella promoted by Equitabile.
On the same date as the International Day for People with Disabilities, the initiative “Genitori in sella“ (Parents in the saddle) took place on Saturday the 29th of November at the Ronco Ranch Centre 2000 in Cernusco sul Naviglio (MI). It was a wonderful occasion that allowed the families of riders with disabilities at the centre to enjoy an equestrian experience as well as activities suited for those with special needs.
Many of the parents that took part confirmed the importance of raising awareness about the skills that the children gain from the equestrian course and to try out for themselves the benefits that are there to be gained- such as self-confidence, anxiety management and the personal relationship established by coming into contact with the horse.
It’s being promoted by the Amateur Sports Association “Incontro a Cavallo“ (Meeting with a horse) which aims to promote and incentivise recreational and rehabilitation initiatives with the belief that sport can be used as a form of therapy. This association is working in partnership with social co-operatives, C.D.D. and educational institutions to achieve its goals.
