German Team takes the Chio Aachen
The German Team took home the top three positions of the individual event, thus winning the Team event ahead of the Gran Bretagna and New Zealand. Andreas Dibowski, with FRH Serve Well, won the individual trial ahead of Ingrid Klimke, second on FRH Butts Abraxxas, and Dirk Schrade who was third on King Artus. Fourth was Mary King riding Imperial Cavalier. Bettina Hoy, who had been leading the table after the first two trials, had more than one problem on the cross and left the way open for her team mates. The cross trial proved to be as difficult as they come with the abundance of difficult angles that not only caused problems for Bettina Hoy, on Ringwood Cockatoo, but also Mark Todd, Clayton Fredericks and Lucy Wiegersma.Excellent result for the Italian Stefano Brecciaroli on Oroton who finished in 16th place while Elisabetta Moranzoni was unlucky and had to retire due to a problem with her horse Fernhill City Boy.
