
Germany claim victory on home soil

Team Germany have ridden their way to victory in the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup at the CHIO Aachen.
The hosts gave a superb display to take the spoils with 0 penalties overall ahead of France and USA who finished joint-second following 4 penalties a piece.
Germany’s winning formation was made up as follows: Christian Ahlmann with Epleaser van’t Heike, Marcus Ehning with Pret a Tout, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum with Fibonacci and Ludger Beerbaum with Casello.
As for France and the USA, Kevin Staut collected a total of 12 penalties for the former of which 8 in the second (discarded). Penelope Leprevost and Roger-Yves Bost were the star performers for Les Bleus and registered double clears. Philippe Rozier collected 4 penalties in round 1.
As for the USA, big hitter McLain Ward picked up 12 penalties in the second round (discarded) while Beezie Madden amassed 4 penalties in the second round which handed victory to Germany. The rest of the nations finished as follows:
4th Great Britain – 9 penalties
5th Switzerland – 14 penalties
6th Belgium – 17 penalties
7th Canada – 20 penalties
8th Holland – 21 penalties

In other Equestrian World, Sergio Alvarez Moya won the Sparkassen Youngster Cup with Unicstar de l’Aumone. In the same competition, Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano just missed out on a podium finish in fourth with Chalou.
The Stawag Prize on the other hand went to Britain’s Laura Kraut with Holsteiner Confu whereas the U25 national competition to Guido Klatte with Qinghai.
