Two ladies captaining the teams of Mimosa and Ginevra II, with the former under Italian 2008 champion Stefania Annunziata coming out on top over Ginevra D’Orazio by 9 to 5.5.The Argentario Polo Club were easy 6-3 winners against Iron Cave who are owned by American businessman Massimo Elser.Domenica 2 Ginevra I, captained by Luca D’Orazio, in a game to defend the last year’s title, with two Argentines Santiago Schinoni and Juan José Storni, defeated Blu Team 10-7.Snai P.T. lost to 5-4.5 to Granducato di Toscana while youngsters Mattias Coria and Sasha Martinelli and the two Argentines La Borde and Coria, former Italian champion, were easy winners against Antonio Matella’s Roman Moonlaker team.The final phase will start on Saturday with the semi-finals while from Wednesday through to Friday. Thursday will see a glamour evening at the Polo Club where the splendid 90-metre schonner “La Signora del vento,“ constructed in Poland in 1962, will be on display The vessel is currently moored in Porto Ercole and anyone visiting the port should take the opportunity to view it as Italian swimmers Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallapé, fresh from their triumphants at the World Championships in Rome will be there.
