Sara Morganti has cemented her name in the history of Italian para-dressage after a brilliant gold medal victory in the Freestyle Test, which comes soon after also collecting the silver medal in the individual test at the World Equestrian Games. She took first place with a score of 78.800 on her performer Royal Delight and the victory has an even sweeter taste for the Italian considering that she beat her main adversary, Britain’s Sophie Christiansen with Rio de Janeiro (77.500%), who took gold in the individual dressage test.It was a case of role reversal then in the Freestyle and, with the music from “My Fair Lady“, Sara picked up her fifth medal (2 bronze medals at the Euros in Denmark, a bronze in Norway in 2009 and the silver on Thursday at the WEG) as well as her first gold. The Italian paid tribute to her horse Royal Delight adding that she was fantastic. For a full list of the results, please see here: https://www.horseshowjumping.tv/files/PAR-PRI-IND-RF-Ia.pdfIn the B grade category meanwhile, Italian Silvia Veratti with Zadok came in fourth place and just missed out on a medal with a score of 73.650%. Victory went to British athlete Lee Person with Zion (80.050%), silver to Austria’s Pepo Puch with Fine Feeling (78.99%) and bronze to Holland’s Nicole Den Dulk on Wallace (75.150%).source: normandy2014.com
