Horseball: a sport on the up

The European Horseball Championships in Normandy will be taking place from August 8-12. The top eight European line-ups will be in action in St.Lo for the crown of European champion. Italy meanwhile have fielded teams in the following three categories: Under 16, Ladies and Pro Elite.
Horseball was created in the 1970s in an attempt to form a sport that combines polo, rugby and basketball. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength and the International Horseball Federation now lays claim to 18 member countries. The sport is now also one of the ten disciplines recognised by FEI.
