On Saturday afternoon in Aquila, in the little district of Barete, HSJ and Sportendurance offered the children living in the tent village after the earthquake of April 6 a different way to spend the afternoon. The unusual torrid heat and high level of humidity failed to stop the intention and will to make a real, concrete contribution to the unlucky population of Aquila. Thanks to the support of Associazione Ippica Lupus in Fabula, which generally deals with training horse units for cinema, it was made possible to take two horses in to the tent village, one of which, Quasimodo, can be seen in the photo, an anglo-arab grey retired from endurance racing and owned by a collaborator of HSJ.  Everybody in the saddle, from old to young alike, also the ably challenged to zi-zag between the blue tents pitched by the Home Office and the portable toilets. Smiles, photos, jokes made up a day aimed at bringing instant joy while aiming not to think about the uncertain future.L.Giannangeli
