Ireland’s Denis Lynch in fine form ahead of Vienna LGCT GP.
Riders are gearing up in Vienna for the last qualifying leg of the 2015 Longines Global Champions Tour where the man to beat is once again Scott Brash.
The Scottish rider, who already has 2 LGCT titles to his name, is leading the way at the top of the standings as he bids for title number three.
Following behind in second in the standings we find Portugal’s Luciana Diniz and in third the winner of the last leg of the tour Rolf-Goran Bengtsson.
Ahead of the GP, riders have already been out in action in the Mercedes Benz Championat of Vienna which was won by Irishman Denis Lynch with Abbervail van het Dingeshof. USA’s Kent Farrington was second with Willow and Sweden’s Rolf Goran Bengtsson third with Clarimo Ask.
Several top riders were in good form during the feature class competition such as Jessica Springsteen who registered the quickest time in the second round with Davendy S while Marco Kutscher was the first to clear the course in the jump-off with Chaccorina.
Bengtsson impressed, but in the end had to settle for third place after a super performance from Lynch, who was a full 3 seconds quicker than his Swedish rival to take the win. Farrington pushed for the victory although his 34.39 second run was only good enough for second place.
It all paves the way nicely then for today’s highly anticipated LGCT Grand Prix at 18.30. A reminder that a live streaming service is available on LGCT TV – http://www.globalchampionstour.com/gct-live/
