Spruce Meadows, Calgary, is the scene of the CSIO5* “Master Tournament“ and four Italian riders are chasing the big prize money in Canada.Giuseppe d’Onofrio, Piergiorgio Bucci and Juan Carlos Garcia along with Emilio Bicocchi will be out to win some of the two million dollar prize money on offer.The first event saw home rider and Olympic champion Eric Lamaze on Take Off take the honours in Zeidler Finacial Cup ahead of Laurent Hough and the Swiss Pius Schwizer on BMC Loving Dancer.The Azzurri’s Pippo d’Onofrio on Lagerfeld was 15th with one penalty.In the 160cm Finning Welcome, Garcia on Hamilton was 11 with eight penalties in an event won by Harrie Smolders on Exquis Walnut de Muze followed by Lamaze.The Enacana CUP 160cm takes place today with the BMO Nations’ Cup on Saturday and finally the CN Grand Prix.
