Italian stallion Lord Dix approved by Belgian studbook SBS
It’s been a period in which many of the top studbooks have been holding selection trials for new performers, with the Belgian studbook SBS the latest to take part at the International Selection Show 2014. 50 stallions were on display with only 20 approved by the studbook.
The Zoology centre in Gesves played host to the event with an increasingly demanding public and panel of judges as is expected at these high level occasions. Of the 20 subjects that were chosen, 17 are destined for show jumping while the other 3 will be used for the dressage discipline. The age ranges differ from the age of 3 to the age of 8.
The most represented nation was Belgium with Joris de Brabander’s Stal de Muze presenting Lector vd Bisschop (Bamako de Muze / For Pleasure) who is 3 years old and Pollux de Muze Z (Plot Blue / Calato), born in 2003 and jointly owned with Irishman Clem McMahon.
There was also good Equestrian World for Italian breeding and from the ‘La Magnifica Farm’ who presented Lord Dix (Lincolm L / Stakkato), another jewel from Tuscany who rides with champion Natale Chiaudani. The Italian rider has shown his qualities lately with Sly del La Magnifica (Stakkato), who is also the product of La Magnifica Farm. The sorrel Hannover stallion and Natale Chiaudani shone at the World Championships in the young horses category in Lanaken and just last year Sly del La Magnifica was crowned the Italian Champion in the 7 year old category.
The latest talent comes in the form of Lord Dix who is also the current Italian Champion but in the category reserved to horses of 4 years of age. What is more, the horse has now been officially approved by the SBS studbook.
Italy is now hoping that this is only the start and that there will be more to come from the Italian breeding sector. For a full list of the approved horses, please see the following link: http://www.selectionshow.be/nouveaux_etalons_approuves.php
