Italy will participate in the FEI Nations Cup Series final in Barcelona

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has officially confirmed today that Italy will participate in the FEI Nations Cup Series final in Barcelona, scheduled to take place from September 28th to October 1st, 2023.

Following last weekend’s CSIO5* event in Dublin, the final event of the First European Division, qualified nations from the six groups – Europe Division 1, North and Central America and the Caribbean, Middle East, South America, Africa, Asia and Australasia, and Eurasia – have confirmed their participation in the final.

However, due to the absence of a nation from the Asia and Australasia group, Italy has been granted the opportunity to participate. According to the regulations, when a nation withdraws, Division 1 takes priority for readmission over the other groups.

As known, the Barcelona FEI Nations Cup Series provides the last non-qualified nation with a final chance to secure a spot for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
For Italy, this presents an additional opportunity to secure a place in next year’s Olympics, in addition to the one offered by the European Championships in Milan.
