The anticipation is rising ahead of the Rolex Kentucky, the three day eventing competition at the Kentucky Horse Park which gets going on April 28.
Some of the best riders in the world are set to participate including the Olympic Champion Michael Jung. There are big expectations for the German star who will be aiming to get his hands on the staggering 350.000 dollars in prize money up for grabs for the winner which is a whopping 50.000 dollars more than the prize money last year.
What’s more, having won the first leg in Burghley, Jung is still on course for the Grand Slam and with it an extra 350.000 dollars in prize money. Only one other rider has managed such a feat when Pippa Funnell rode her way to the Grand Slam in 2003.
However, it will be far from easy for Jung and his Fischerrocana FST at Lexington with the likes of Mark Todd, Jonathan Paget, Blyth Tait and Tim Price to name a few all out to deny Jung in his quest for Grand Slam glory.
