The Garda Endurance Lifestyle 2010 is a new race contested over one of the most beautiful landscapes in Italy, with a walking path between the memorable stages of the Risorgimento through Peschiera Monzambano Valeggio sul Mincio. It starts from Paradise (Paradise On location, Peschiera del Garda), where everything is superbly prepared for the Umbria Endurance Equestrian Team. A range designed by Gianluca Laliscia and carried forward in line with the Dubai Equestrian Club by the UEET, which holds the exclusive contact for Italy. A goal that has materialized and evolved over the years with a series of events organized especially in Umbria, Lake Trasimeno and Assisi, to arrive later this year at Lake Garda.
There were two courses set out; from the CEI ** 120 km.on a daisy path of four rounds, two 36 km. and two 26, which saw victory for Lazio’s Emmanuel Funds, riding Schanandoa River (average 16.50 km / hr), “best condition“, who finished ahead of Daniela Tosa and Wladimiro Marani respectively on My Dearling Flumendosa and Saura. There were fifty riders at the start, the French, Uruguayans, Spaniards, Greeks, a rider from the Emirates. Many horses pulled up lame, some were eliminated due to metabolism problems, it was a hot day, and between the favourites Antonio Rosi, Mohamed Bin Khalifa Al Hamed SH yr, Jack Bégaud, Gaetano Ambrosio, Peter Money all dismounted. In the CEI * over 86.5 km., there were three rounds, two 26 km. one at a 33, and there was a nice win for Anna Maestrello Dacja, average 14.600 km / hour, while the second and third were Fabio Zanardini Zago, “best condition“ and Gianluca Castelnuovo on Kagima.
Thirty riders were at the start and 15 did not finish, mostly for lameness in the horses.
We have to remember that moving the event from Umbria in Peschiera del Garda has been shared by the Dubai Equestrian Club, the largest sports facility which refers to the royal family of Dubai, particularly Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai – lover of horses and great patron of endurance worldwide. The event is a major financial draw, promoting the Verona and Garda area and has also been a major attraction for Assisi and the Endurance Lifestyle event which the Garda organisers managed to transfer to their area.
