The equestrian action keeps on coming in the English capital as part of the London Olympia Horse Show and yesterday it was the turn of the FEI World Cup for driving to take centre stage with Koos de Ronde finishing top in the first round. Jozsef Dobrovitz was second while Boyd Exell was third ahead of the second round which will get underway at 18.30 later today.
In show-jumping, Kenny Darragh and Fixdesign Funke van’t Heike jumped their way to victory in the Snowflake Stakes against the clock over 1.45m. There was then another competition over 1.45m in which Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca came second to Laura Kraut. The final podium slot was taken by Maurice Tebbel. The other Azzurri representative, Piergiorgio Bucci, finished 11th.
Yesterday came to a close with the Longines Christmas Cracker over 1.60m which was won by Steve Guerdat. In second we find Anthony Condon and in third Manuel Fernandez Saro. Looking ahead, riders will be in action today with The Shelly Ashman International LTD, followed by the Christmas Masters, the Driving World Cup and the Martin Collins Enterprises Christmas Tree Stakes.
