It’s the home straight! Just two days to go before the cream of international show-jumping invests the bewitching setting offered by Monte-Carlo’s Port Hercule, from the 28th to the 30th of June, for the 13th Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) of Monaco. Shortly after the Formula 1 Grand Prix, it’s now the turn of another sort of horse power, this time led by the best riders in the World, who will be striding across the 1,100 tonnes of sand that forms the ephemeral arena set up at the foot of the Prince’s Palace.
The Jumping International of Monte-Carlo is the 9th stop off in the 2018 LGCT, and one of the leading stages of the circuit amongst other enchanting destinations, such as Mexico City, Miami Beach, Shanghai or even St-Tropez… and guarantees again this year an excellent list of starters. Two major objectives for show-jumping’s elite: Victory in the LGCT Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco carrying 300,000 euros (100,000 euros to the winner) on Saturday evening and thus their ticket to the LGCT Super Grand Prix, the big finale at Prague next December; But also the possibility to shine as part of a team, in the Global Champions League (GCL), in order to qualify for the GC Prague Play Offs and the GCL Super Cup that carries an incredible 12 million euros of prize money.
