Mechelen results with Land Rover Masters this evening

There were 31 riders taking part late afternoon yesterday in Mechelen for the Koen Vereecke event over 1.45m, with  Olivier Philippaerts on Carlito C finishing first. The Belgian rider had also won in Aachen, at Calgary and Washington.
Carlito C had been rested for nearly a month after returning from the USA and came back in excellent form to finish in front of Pieter Devos on Couscous van Orti with his younger brother Wouter Devos on Emporio van T Holeinde in third.
The 1.40m for Under 25s was won by another local rider Leonie Peeters su Catho (Millar), ahead of Briton Chloe Aston on Kolibri Classic (Kolibris) and Beglian Vicky van de Poel on Chablie (Sire Major de la Cour).
Today, The Prix St-Georges 2009 presented by Ricoh was won by Holland’s Patrick van de Meer on Coco Chanel, the seven-year-old out of Sandreo with 74.500%.Second was the German Kyra Klinkers on Whoopydoo (Lord Sinclair) with 71.500% and third Belgium’s Françoise Joux Hologne on Warhol (Warkant).

Today’s five-star dressage was won by Adelinde Cornelissen on Jerich Parzival NOP (Jazz), with 77.740%. Just behind (77.140%) was Patrik Kittel and Watermill Scandic (Solos Carex) while Holland’s Danielle Heijkoop on Siro NOP (Gribaldi) was third with 75.640%.

The stallions are in action over the jumps this afternoon in the CSI5*-W presented by Zangersheide:
h.15.55 – De Buyl Horse Insurance – for Belgian raised-mounts over 1.45m in two rounds
h. 16.55 – Zangersheide – 6-year-old stallions
h. 18.25 – Zangersheide – 7-year-old stallions
h. 20.00 – Zangersheide – Competition open to stallons
The day concludes with the Land Rover Masters starting at 22.25.
