Mexico City set for second leg of the LGCT 2026 season
The 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour continues with its second leg, taking place from April 16 to 19 at the iconic Campo Marte in Mexico City. One of the most distinctive venues on the circuit will once again host a stellar mix of established champions, rising stars and home favourites.
Katrin Eckermann leads the LGCT standings
All eyes will be on Germany’s Katrin Eckermann, who arrives as the current overall leader following her victory at the LGCT Grand Prix of Miami Beach. Carrying strong momentum, she will aim to extend her lead in the 2026 title race.
Germany fields an exceptionally strong team, including Christian Kukuk, making his 2026 debut as a new Longines Ambassador, alongside Philipp Weishaupt and Sophie Hinners.
Home riders ready to shine
The home crowd will rally behind local stars Carlos Hank Guerreiro and Nicolás Pizarro, both set to bring excitement to the arena and carry the hopes of the host nation.
Young talents and global stars
The new generation continues to impress, with Britain’s Jack Whitaker arriving second in the standings, while reigning 2025 LGCT Champion Gilles Thomas returns among the sport’s elite.
British experience will also be represented by Jessica Mendoza and Olympic champion Ben Maher.
The field is further strengthened by top international names including Max Kühner, Jur Vrieling, Maikel van der Vleuten, Victor Bettendorf, Edwina Tops-Alexander, Pieter Devos, Niels Bruynseels, Simon Delestre, Abdel Saïd and Cian O’Connor.
Also one to watch is Jérôme Guéry, who has winning experience in Mexico City, having taken top honours in 2019.
