The Global Champions Tour heads to Mexico this weekend for the first time in the competition’s history.
Campo de Marte will take centre stage for what is the second leg of the tour and the designated venue has plenty of experience having also hosted the dressage and show-jumping trials at the 1968 Olympics.
17 nations will be represented with the winner from the first leg in Miami Edwina Tops Alexander out to make it two from two. Flying the flag for the host nation on the other hand are Gonzalo and Azcarraga.
Italy’s hopes meanwhile pass through the tireless Emanuele Gaudiano. Swedish rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson has also confirmed his attendance along with the stars from the USA Kent Farrington and Jack Towell.
Keep a close eye on the supremely talented Irishman Bertram Allen not to mention Pedro Veniss, the only rider representing Brazil.
Germany arrive with high hopes with Daniel Deusser, Christian Ahlmann and Hans-Dieter Dreher whereas Great Britain will be relying on Ben Maher and Scott Brash.
Fellow European heavyweights France have chosen Kevin Staut and Roger-Yves Bost in their bid to inaugurate the Mexican leg with a French win.
