Moment of fear for Chiara Rosi at Euston Park
Italian rider Chiara Rosi suffered a moment of fear during a private endurance race in England.Chiara was taking part in the 120km “Ride with the Stars“ at Euston Park when three kilometres into the event her mount slipped and fell into a ditch along the banks of a river.Fortunately, she was able to recover although could not continue and returned to the hotel to recover.Of the other Azzurri riders Carletto di Battista finished fourth last amongst the 118 competitors which was a good result while Gianluca Laliscia had to retire.Victory went to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Acadienne – trained by Jaume Punti Dachs – (average pace 23.39 km/h). Shiekh Hamndan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum on Jazyk was second (average pace 23.39 km/h). Third spot went to Saudita Fauiz Jamil Al Turconami, who finished in an average pace of 23.37 km/h on Ridasa Dr Gbm.The top European was was current women’s world champion Maria Alvarez Ponton followed by Jaume Punti. The event was not an official FEI qualifier although it did follow the International Federation rules.
