The Mipaaf at Horses Le Lame (Montefalco, 17/19 June) has ended. The Umbrian organizing committee welcomed 400 horses for the event, including the “stakeholders“ added to the first degree category and those of the Youth Project.
Three days of competition were available to claim maximum points from the style judge and expert competitors, faced with the growth of their young horses. A competition that required precision over the fences and perfection in the saddle.
Two races on Sunday: the Grand Prix “seven years“ and the one for six year olds.
In the GP for the age of 6, measured at 1m30 barrage, Uffa del Tavollo (0/0, 32“31), under the leadership of Kevin Corner won the day. Following were Deja Vu, under the command of Corporal Major Philip Martini di Cigala (0/0, 32“65) and Fashion di San Patrignano with Andrea Messersì (0/0, 33“26).
The grand prize reserved for horses of 7 years, 1.40 mixed, ended with the victory of Unitè dell’Esercito Italiano, the only double clear round by Corporal Major Emanuele Addis. Behind him, with 0/4, Eta Beta di San Patrignano, which Nico Lupino ran in the barrage at 37“68, and Manet, which Mauro Matteucci brought home in a photo finish with a time of 40“25.
“This event, said Nicola Zampolini, “brought together a diverse audience, tied full circle to the horse world: breeding enthusiasts, families in tow of the youngest and curious onlookers,“We recorded a full house, but we were able to guarantee compliance with the schedule, thanks to the fine weather.“
And if Zampolini was satisfied, so were the participants.
“A fabulous circuit, said Kevin Corners, “For the organisation, for the track suitable for young horses, with a rich range of obstacles, and, at the same time, an eye on the hospitality extended to the public, set up along the same lines of the respect shown to the horses.“ On his race partner, Uffa del Tavollo, Angoli said: “She is a mare who has been with me for four years. It gave me great satisfaction when I mount her, always showing great jumping ability and great generosity. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank her owner and breeder, Andrea Palmetti.“
Equally satisfied, Emanuele Addis: “Unitè was born at the Ce.Mi.Vet of Grosseto and raised in in the foals section of CME Montelibretti. After a subdued start, it has shown tremendous growth over 5 years. I am happy today that I have shown patience, respecting the time needed to mature and I thank Lieutenant Colonel Francesco Guarducci for his support and confidence.“ On the contest just completed, he added, “A beautiful place and gracious hospitality.“
