Despite returning from the Barrel Racing World Championships in Georgia without medals draped around their necks, Arianna Tioli, Francesca Adamo and Sophia Gentile can still be more than content with their experience at the big event having gained vital experience and grown both on a personal and professional level.
The NBHA Youth World Championship 2016 of Barrel Racing was staged in Georgia, USA from July 16-23 with the aforementioned trio flying the flag for Italy against the rest of the field: Arianna Tioli, Youth Italian Champion 2014, Francesca Adamo, Youth Italian Champion 2015 and Sophia Gentile, an up and coming star who has already achieved a number of good results.
Tioli was in action with BLUE EYED BANDIT, Adamo with BULLET PROOF BULLY and MRYOURINMYLANE and Gentile with SFW JACKSONS FROST. After a few problems in the first go, the second go went much better for the Italian athletes but it wasn’t quite enough to make it through to the final.
Speaking afterwards, the President of the NBHA Carlo Riccardi said the following: “I have to say that overall I am really pleased. They all proved what they’re capable of. We’re a bit disappointed to be heading home, but we head back with three riders who have developed and who are certainly richer from a personal and professional standpoint. We will be back next year!“
