Only in horse riding: no distinction between the sexes

It would be difficult to find the situation that occurs in show jumping in other sports.
In show jumping men and women compete against each other in the saddles of male, female or neutered horses without any difference or discrimination, something that does not occur in any other sport. It occurs also in an important meeting like the one rode out at Cannes, where three riders join forces to together to form a team and compete to win, without distinction about origin, religion, sex, etc.    Italian jockey Gianni Govoni is well aware, winning the Air Mauritius award at the CSI5* at Cannes ‘blessed by women’. The team was completed by Nora Forsten on Quinalt and Edwina Alexander on Tristan and a total of four faults resulted in victory.Ligresti however was not able to celebrate despite a worthwhile seventh place in the 150cm Prix Generali on Quintero 4 because with 16 personal faults she relegated her team of Lauren Hough and Peter Geerink in the award at 140cm.L.G. – HSJ
